I am a self-taught artist from Southwestern Ontario. I paint mostly with acrylics, though I do venture into watercolour and, very occasionally, into oil paint and pastels.
My father was an artist and taught me about painting when I was very young, though I didn't really take it up as a hobby. In 2015, my father passed away. As part of the grieving process, my therapist suggested I either try writing or painting. It seemed only natural to paint as a way to connect with him.
Though I have mostly lived in Southwestern Ontario, a significant portion of my formative years were spent living near the tiny town of McArthurs Mills, Ontario. Both of my parents being nature lovers, we spent quite a bit of time in the woods surrounding our house.
As an adult, I have developed a love for camping and find peace and vitality in the outdoors. I especially enjoy finding inspiration on hikes in the parks I visit. Though I do enjoy going to new parks and experiencing new things, Silent Lake Provincial Park holds a special place in my heart and is a very frequent subject in my artwork.
